The Six Shooter is a weapon in Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. It can be obtained from the saw table in South Plaza after defeating Seymour Redding during the mission WWJWD?.

It appears as an engraved Colt Single Action Army .45 Colt Revolver holding 60 rounds. Against zombies, each shot will award 10 prestige points, and will cause their heads to explode on headshots. It is quite effective against psychopaths, allowing the player to engage them from medium to long range, and dealing enough damage that the Six Shooter alone is usually enough to defeat any boss.

Its ammo count is doubled if the player is wearing the Soldier of Fortune Skills Pack.

  • Main: Tap X/Square to fire the Six Shooter.
  • Aim: Hold down Ltrigger/L2 to go into aim mode, then tap X/Square or pull Righttrigger/R2 to shoot at a manual target.


  • It's based on the real life Colt Single Action Army.
  • The Six Shooter appears to resemble the Single Action Army in the game, Metal Gear Solid 3, down to that they both have tactical engravings on them.
  • Owing to its large capacity, effectiveness against zombies, and ability to eliminate any psychopath on its own, including two of the most difficult, Dwight Boykin and Sullivan, the Six Shooter is likely the most effective ranged weapon in Dead Rising 2.
  • The Broken Butterfly is the Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop equivalent to the revolver.
  • This weapon is one of 7 weapons which a player cannot have more than one. If a player is carrying this weapon, the weapon will not respawn anywhere, prohibiting the player from carrying another one. The 7 weapons are: Magician Sword, Shopping Valuables, Giant Pink Chainsaw, Rocket Launcher (from World's Most Dangerous Trick), Six Shooter, and the M249 (LMG). All magazines also have this restriction.[1]
  • It can be given to a survivor to carry, allowing the player to transport multiple Six Shooters.
  • The player can fire the Six Shooter by aiming down its sights or from the hip like a gunslinger from the American West.
  • The game files have the gun, "HangmanGun" which is the gun that Seymour Redding uses in fighting Chuck. The weapon can be picked up. When Chuck attempts to fire he goes permanently into firing position. See pictures in gallery below.
