The combo card for this weapon is awarded for assisting the Phenotrans scientist Jerry Sampson with some crazy research project that he has been working on.
Primary: Hold down the trigger and press to make Chuck or Frank manually aim and fire a powerful energy blast that will hit a target and explode after about 2 seconds. The explosion triggered from the blast also sends out a highly-concentrated, electrical shockwave that will kill anything within a 3-foot radius. It is extremely effective against zombies, gas zombies, security guards and zombie handlers. But will require about 3 shots to kill hazard units.
It takes time to fire each shot, so plan accordingly. Also you'll need to be precise whenever you're about to fire because nothing will happen if you fail to hit your target.
Be sure to watch your fire, this weapon has a high-rate of splash damage that can take away 1 to 2 blocks of life should you get caught up in the initial explosion.
A shot fired from the Laser Gun will only detonate when it makes contact with something that moves, but this is not limited just to zombies and Phenotrans employees alone as both Frank West and Chuck Greene count as moving targets themselves.
So far, the Laser Gun is the only combo weapon made entirely from other combo weapons.
The Laser Gun is arguably one of the most lethal weapons in the Dead Rising Series.
The Laser Gun bears a striking resemblance to the Zap-O-Matic in the Destroy All Humans franchise.
