Added by TalkNShootThe "Harvester" is a special machine introduced by The Phenotrans Corporation in Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. It is essentially a miniature version of the harvesting device seen in the Secret Underground Lab in Fortune City's Underground Tunnels. The harvester serves one purpose, to collect queens harvested from zombies and gas zombies alike.
The interior of a harvester might be coated with Nectar or some other chemical that can attract hordes of queens. This is further supported when dozens of mature wasps can be seen flying into the receiving ends of a harvester, after the bodies of their "zombified" hosts have been destroyed.

Edit
After Frank West storms and sabotages all Phenotrans operations in the Underground Tunnels, he takes the evidence he finds back to the safe house and presents it to Raymond Sullivan, Rebecca Chang, and Stacey Forsythe. Shortly after, Stacey reveals herself to be "Agent S" of Phenotrans and shoots Rebecca (although she survives in "Overtime Mode") before killing Sullivan.

Added by TalkNShootAs Frank pursues Stacey into Fortune Park and Uranus Zone, he stops short as several Phenotrans helicopters appear in the skies over Fortune City and deploy a total of eight different "harvesters" throughout the area along with teams of two or three security guards to safeguard them. Armed with merc assault rifles and BFGs, these security teams set to work trying to collect as many queens as they can before the commencement of the military firebombing on the city.
Frank immediately proceeds to eliminate the security teams and destroy the harvesters before they can reach full capacity. Afterwards he calls up Stacey and jokes that her plan has "gone up in flames." An annoyed Agent S rebuffs Frank's remark, and tells him to meet her in Uranus Zone for their final encounter.

Edit
- The Harvesters can actually be pretty difficult to destroy if the player is unprepared. The security teams that guard them will sometimes fire their BFGs at Frank, causing him to throw up and become vulnerable to open attack. Having hundreds of zombies and gas zombies around doesn't help much either, and the harvesters themselves can take a considerable amount of damage before they will blow up.
- When dealing with the harvesters, its best to go into battle with a good supply of health items and melee weapons. The Magazine (Health 1) (found in Palisades Mall) can be especially useful here as it boosts the effect of all health restoration items by "50%".
- The achievement "Technological Terror" can be unlocked by destroying one of these sinister machines.
