The Bowling Ball is a weapon in Dead Rising. It is a heavy ball used in a game of bowling.

Its durability can be increased by using the Entertainment or Sports books.

A headshot will instantly kill any zombie or survivor.

Attacks

• Primary: Tap the button to swing the bowling ball in a downward strike.
• Thrown: Hold down the trigger to go into aim mode and press the button to roll the bowling ball forward. This attack is capable of knocking down a target.

Trivia

In beta versions of the game, the bowling ball had a unique "bowling pin knockdown" sound effect when hitting zombies. This was removed from the final version. One of the empty stores in North Plaza has several pylons (traffic cones) set up like bowling pins, with two bowling balls ready to be used. The achievement Strike! is earned by rolling the ball into a crowd of zombies and knocking ten of them over.
