The Laser Gun is a combo weapon in Dead Rising 2: Case West and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. It is the upgraded version of the Lightning Gun, and is created by combining a Laser Sword with a Lightning Gun.

The weapon fires a thin shot of purple lightning that will explode after a few seconds with a large amount of thunder hitting anything they touch. The buildup is a swirl of lights until the zombie explodes, and the electrical burst takes out nearby enemies (or even Chuck and/or Frank). It can also detonate anything explosive in the blast area. It can kill a Security Guard with one shot.

The Combo Card for this weapon is awarded for assisting Jerry Sampson with some crazy research project that he has been working on. In Off the Record, the Combo Card is awarded after reaching Level 50.

Laser Sword	Flashlight	Shipping Office	The Flashlight is located in the Shipping Office on the desk beside the microwave.
	Gems	Living Quarters	The Gems are found in the Living Quarters. On the top floor of rooms, find the room labeled “X1.” The Gems will be inside that room on a nightstand beside the bed.
Lightning Gun	Blast Frequency Gun	Harvesting Room	The Blast Frequency Gun is found on the second floor of the Harvesting Room propped up against one of the yellow control panels.
	Electric Prod	Zombie Handler	The Electric Prods are taken from any Zombie Handler. There are always two Zombie Handlers right outside the Shipping Office.

Tips

• As the Laser Gun deals heavy splash damage, caution is advised in Co-Op to prevent downing your partner.
• The shots from a Laser Gun have a delay between being fired and the explosion.

Trivia

• The Laser Gun is the only combo weapon in Dead Rising 2 to be made with two different combo weapons, and one of the two Combo Weapons to have a Combo Weapon in their recipe, the other being the Blitzkrieg, which uses an Electric Chair and an Assault Rifle/LMG/Merc Assault Rifle.
  • Because of this, it can be considered a Super Combo Weapon before Dead Rising 3 even introduced the concept.
• The Laser Gun is essentially a makeshift railgun, which eventually became an actual weapon in Dead Rising 3.
• In a development release on October 18,2010, it was called the Power Blaster.
