The group are all waiting in the Safe House watching the military clean up roll in.

Case 6-1: Help Arrives is a case in Dead Rising 2. Several military hummers drive into Fortune park, and several soldiers get out. Sgt. Boykin then gives orders, then cuts down the first zombie to approach them with a clean headshot. More zombies approach, and the other men open fire while Boykin watches from the rear. The military appear to have the situation well in hand, until clouds of green gas begin emanating from the vents below their feet. One zombie enters the cloud, and suddenly starts sprouting red pustules. It then spits unidentifiable bloodlike material at one of the soldiers, momentarily blinding him. Another soldier tries to held, but is attacked by a second, similarly changed zombie. The green gas slowly starts covering all of Fortune City, and many more zombies transform, becoming much faster and more aggressive. The soldiers are no match for them. The last man standing, Sgt. Boykin, takes a hummer and drives down into the underground. Rebecca follows him. Back in the Safe House, the group is shocked by what they see. Sullivan now says that one of two things will occur. Either the military will send one final cleanup team, or they will firebomb the city. Everyone soon finds out via a news report that all signs of life in Fortune City have supposedly been lost, and that the military are going to fire bomb the City at 7.00 o'clock the following day.

This changes the timer that appears when entering and exiting areas from "Time until military arrives" to "Time until fire bomb".

Trivia Edit

  • "Firebomb" is a term used for napalm bombing, which was forbidden by the Geneva Convention following the Vietnam War due to the ecological and collateral destruction it wrought. Despite this, it is still sometimes used in extreme circumstances (which is likely the reason for its use by the military on Fortune City, given the potential for a massive spread of the infection). Also, it is very possible that the Geneva Convention's protocols do not apply to the undead.
