Books are items that can be picked up in book stores or in other locations. Each book provides certain benefits to Frank. Most books affect the durability of a group of weapons. For example, the Engineering Book affects the sledgehammer, sickle, hedge trimmers, etc.

However, not all books increase the durability of weapons. There are books to make it so you get more health from food items, get more PP from photos, get more PP from killing zombies in special ways, make survivors you are escorting more aggressive, and make it so you do more damage with your barehanded attacks. Many of the books that do effects other than making weapons last longer are obtained by killing certain psychopaths.
