Barbara Patterson is a survivor appearing in Dead Rising. She is found in the empty store next to Crislip's Home Saloon. She is held hostage by Cliff Hudson during the scoop The Hatchet Man.

The Hatchet ManEdit
Barbara was mistaken as a member of the Viet Cong and held captive by the psychopath Cliff. She and two other captives, Rich Atkins and Josh Manning, were trapped inside an empty store next to Crislip's Home Saloon. After Cliff is defeated, Frank unlocks the doors and convinces the three frightened survivors to follow him to the Security Room. If Frank kills one of the survivors before recruitment, none of them will be willing to talk to Frank, and they become impossible to recruit.
Kindell's BetrayalEdit
After being rescued, she will wait in the room with the green door. When Kindell Johnson believes that there is no helicopter coming in three days, he rallies up the other survivors in the same room, including Barbara, to make a break for it. If Frank does not stop Kindell's mutiny, Barbara will leave the Security Room along with the other survivors in the same room. They will no longer count towards the number of rescued survivors.
FateEdit
Depending on the ending, Barbara was either rescued by Ed DeLuca, taken into custody by the Special Forces and possibly killed to cover up the Willamette incident, or killed by Carlito Keyes's bombs.
Infinity ModeEdit
Barbara appears at the Security Room from 5:19:00 to 6:00:00 carrying a red cabbage and uses a sledgehammer.

NotesEdit
If Barbara or one of the other scoop survivors are killed before speaking to one of them, they cannot be recruited, even if Frank talks to them afterwards, they will not respond.
Barbara does not appear in Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop.
